If you walk by Retiro park, more precisely at the opposite side of the Prado Museum - we suggest you to try La Castela, a very, very good tapas bar.

Great tapas but with plenty of traditional other dishes like: the delicious croquetas with seafood, but also with chicken. Scrambled eggs with white beans and blood pudding. The list is long.. Try as many you can!!

But you must know that real gourmets come to La Castela only for fish (squids, burbot, sea-bream), rices and seafood, the other specialty of the place. It's a great restaurant... Great wine choice..

De passage, un petit coup d oeil, sur le net, et nous voilà devant, beaucoup de monde, grosse ambiance, un peu perdu, dans tous le brouhaha un serveur prend le temps de nous comprendre et nous dirige derrière, dans le restaurant, l'accueil est agréable, très respectueux... Et là et bien laissez vous faire... Que du bonheur !

j'adore ce restaurant.. un grand plaisir d'y aller à chaque passage à Madrid. Parfait pour déjeuner soit au bar soit en salle, selon l'humeur et le temps disponible.

excentré mais quelle adresse. Un bonheur. Surtout commencé par un petit verre et des tapas au bar avant de passer en salle. c'est sublime et relativement ok pour les prix.

quel bon restaurant.. un vrai bonheur. nous avons attendu au bar mais devant des tapas à tomber. En salle un grand plaisir, entourés de gourmands espagnols nous avons abusé de cette carte grandiose. heureusement que nous sommes allés ensuite faire une marche digestive dans le parc. ;-)

nous sommes passés à la Castela à la saison des champignons pour une lotte aux cèpes ("rape con boletus" il me semble).. Une merveille... prendre un verre à l'entrée pour se mettre dans l'ambiance.

Love La Castela in Madrid.. good idea to walk by this great fish restaurant.. 1st we stayed at bar for tapas.. then we came back the day after for restaurant... just incredible... enjoy about everything..

La Castela to me is N°1.. not often in Madrid but when I'm there I enjoy this fish and tapas restaurant, classy and just delicious!!
